Day 11 – Summary of Week 2 (13/01/13)

This week has been a very slow week in terms of progress in Career wise, as have not had the motivation to do these things I set out to do – which is worrying as this is only the second week.

Career

A very dissapointing week in this aspect. It seems I’ve been using work as an excuse to not do stuff and as a result I’ve procrastinated a lot.

Didn’t manage to get that C# program finished. Said I would do some java programming but that never fucking happened.

So overall, I’m starting to fall into old habits when it comes to doing stuff logically, or hard work – which is pissing me off. The most I’ve done this week is turn my hifi into a sound system for my pc, but other than that: basically blamed a lot of things, but overall done nothing.

Personal

Very happy with this week. Managed to make time for friends and family alike, so I hope to maintain this pattern. Can’t really set myself many goals in this aspect.

Little disappointed in myself that I haven’t asked this girl out yet, but will hopefully do so this week.

Also, later this day I posted on Facebook about an ailment that has been plagueing me for a while now, and I was very pleased to see that my friends are there for me. Sounds cliché and pathetic, but it felt nice 🙂

Physical

Very Happy with this aspect as managed to meet this personal target. 

When I went to gym, It was quite intense on both occasions and I hope to maintain it, as it feels amazing afterwards. Also helps you pound away the stress by pushing yourself that little bit extra

Goals for Week 3

Career

– Stop making excuses and do something this week.

– Structure your week like this: “Physical Day” then “Smart Day” until Sunday comes around and have fun! Harsh it seems, but you are being that dwindles too much on excuses!

Personal

No specific goals just keep making time for friends and family… Oh, and ask that girl out for crying out loud!

Physical

– 3 Physical days this week

– Build up weights gradually, don’t go stupid! Try for 10 Kg on Dumbbells by end of week – if not no biggy! You’ll get there

– More Cardio, aim for 15 mins on treadmill by this week.

– Keep going for lates at gym; Less people = More Equipment. Also, at its latest – where there are no people – grunting time!

Day 10 – Boring Day, Again! (12/01/13)

So today was a Saturday and I was at work. So you know that screams fun!

– Went over to see my Nana and the Parents

Summary

A very droll day today. Really need to get in the habit of doing stuff, other than gym.

For the record; The personal section is just that – Last year I didn’t give friends/family enough time, so this year going to make an effort

Day 9 – I am lazy (11/01/13)

So today was a bit of a hangover day. Suffice to say: I did not do a lot this day.

Career

– Nothing

Physical

Went to gym for two hours, and I have to say; being in a gym by yourself is hellish. All the equipment is free. You can grunt however many times you want. No downside at all! Therefore, reckon I’m going to keep going to the gym later on in the day.

Summary

Other than go to the gym and get some food in: this was not a productive day at all…

 

Day 8 – Drunken times (10/01/13)

Career
Didn’t do a lot today, as it was my day off. Was aching a bit from gym, do that was probably a factor

Personal
Good day for personal aspect; didn’t manage to go to the all-you-can-eat place, but on the night it was quite awesome. Had some drinks at mine then went to town. Down the town I found myself listening to the little man that says: go speak to those girls over tgere, rather than the other little voice that makes me doubt about a lot of things.

On the course of the night, i did and said some silly things – but to be fair: I was quite drunk! There was one occassion where we met up with a lad who is quite close to a girl who – up until recentky – was going on dates with and such. Now the reason I bring this up is for the fact, that simply rather ask him a ton of questions about what I done to cause things to end; I asked only one question, which was basically “did she mention anything to you?”. Other than that; I refrained myself and in doing so; we all had a lovely night!

Today was a rest day

Summary
Today was a fairly slow day today. Had some fun on the evening. Quite proud of myself for not berating that lad with questions and such; as this is the self-destructive behaviour I want to get rid of, or keep to a bare minimum.

Should have probavly done some cosing but never mind.

On a unrelated note; due to a faulty driver or cable I have not been able to get sound through my monitor for my pc. So to get around this, I simply hooked up cd player through the aux and voila! I now have a sound system for my pc!

Day 7 – Let’s get Physical (09/01/13)

Career

– Didn’t do much at all in this aspect

Personal

– Plans got cancelled to go out, but got reorganised

Physical

– Started going to gym. Went there for about 2 Hrs and worked up quite a sweat. It was a little bit amusing to see this little 17 kid pick some heavy dumbells; do five reps rapidely and then stop go on his iPhone for 5 mins, before doing the same on another machine.

– Tested my BMI at the gym. The results were that i was overweight (duh!) and my Exact weight was 95.2KG (15 stone) and 186 cm (with shoes on). Therefore my BMI was 27.6 – which isn’t great but this will help to track my progress over the coming weeks.

Summary

Today was very physical orientated, and I can see a trend developing in regards to the Career aspect. Going out for a night out tomorrow night, so if I am to do any coding it needs to be prior to this… then again, drunk coding?

I’ll have to go to the gym on Friday, because i sense tomorrow is going to be a day of gluttony!

Day 6 (08/01/13)

Forgot to post for this day, however pretty sure that not much happened other than got an angry customer at work which caused me to stay back an hour – all because of a stupid mistake from her insurers. Which reminds me; I don’t think I’ll be taking out a policy with them this year for my renewal.

Career

Not a lot done. Was very stressed out from work to the point that I just wanted to chill out on the evening

Personal

Spent some time with some good friends at local bar; however discovered that one of said friends has got me a Christmas present – so now must do a Sheldon and find a suitable present. If you are reading this Grant: Curse you!

Physical

Joined gym. Going to stick with pay as I go method at the moment, then will try and go more and more as the weeks progress.

So overall, Nothing much done with career wise. Had a shit day at work (wasn’t customer’s fault: I felt sorry for her!). But had a nice evening

Oh and I may have bought a dodgy hdmi cable… hmm…

Day 5 (07/01/13)

Career

– Asked colleague who’s applied for Helpdesk position about what was required. To clarify: Keen interest in IT (Check!), Good Job Knowledge (Check!), Know how to troubleshoot problems on pc (Check!), Priorities (ie: What’s more important; a cracked monitor or a server not working) – Check! VMware – little bit rusty so will need to do some work with this part. Servers – Limited Experience (Other than running a minecraft server in Java: not a lot!).

So basically need to do some research in VMware and server maintainance…. Oh, Fu….n!

Personal

– Completely neutral, other than checking if some girl was single or not!

Physical

– -10 Points: Went to parents to attempt and fix buggy performance on their pc (to which smartarse brother decided to fix :P) and got a meal… No wonder I’ve lost most of my belly since moving out of there… all I’m going to say *stuffed*

Summary

Pretty crap day, if I’ll be honest. Although finding out that stuff from workmate will certainly help for later on.
